Challenge:
PSERN, is a state-of-the-art land mobile radio communication system providing voice communication and limited data capabilities. The station primarily serves police, fire, and emergency medical service personnel in the performance of their emergency response duties. The mobile station needed equipment cooling on a year-round basis. Unfortunately, the peaked roof of the building was unable to support a rooftop unit. Since most HVAC manufacturers primarily make rooftop units, it was difficult to find a unit that would fit in the attic.
Solution:
The operators of the mobile station would soon learn that units were coming to the rescue. United CoolAir was able to provide two 4-Ton C-13 horizontal air source heat pumps. As a precision cooling unit that included an airside economizer, the controls contractor was able to apply their own controls to provide a lead/lag sequence and staging of compressors.
