Challenge:
A Wells Fargo bank in Raleigh, NC had three 46 Ton Trane SWUD units that had reached the end of their lifespan. In their search to find a replacement unit, it was difficult to find an HVAC unit that would fit the exact footprint of the existing SWUD’s without having to perform costly demolition of the building structure. For instance, in order to prevent disruptions for the 70% occupied building, the replacement had to occur quickly.
Solution:
The timing could not have been better for the bank, as United CoolAir has the VariCool Renovator, a direct replacement for Trane® SWUD units ranging from 42–80 Tons. To begin with, these self-contained water-cooled units shipped in multiple sections, fitting through the doorway and easily into the space. As a result, accomplishing the retrofit over the weekend led to customer satisfaction.
